We work closely with architects and owners from around the world on large, complex projects with a focus on sustainability and energy performance of the built environment. Our Engineers work on high quality, high-profile, national and international projects. You will actively participate in the full project cycle, from the design phase through the final construction close-out. WSP offers excellent growth opportunities. Your Impact • Work within multi-discipline project teams to develop drawings and specification documents for issuance to architects, contractors and building owners • Coordinate design activities with other multi-discipline project team members • Design of electric distribution systems • Design of fire alarm systems • Design of lighting and lighting control systems • Scheduling and selecting of electrical components and equipment • Perform electrical load, short circuit and voltage drop calculations • Construction administration • Involved from project inception to completion in the management of design and construction of electrical infrastructure project • Attend client and other stakeholder meetings. Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients in a confident and professional manner • Supervise and mentor younger engineers • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs Who You Are Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. • 7+ years of relevant post education experience as an electrical engineer providing design deliverables for capital projects in power generation, transmission, and distribution at a utility, industrial, or commercial scale. • Engineer license required preferred • Extensive knowledge of building electrical infrastructure design. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Proficient with Knowledge of Revit. and AutoCAD. • Knowledge of relevant engineering and electrical construction laws, energy codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements. • Interest in innovative design, specifically in renewable energies and sustainable, high performing buildings. • Well-developed ability to make technical computations and calculations involving the application of electrical engineering principles, understanding plans and specifications, and making factual comparisons to the appropriate regulations. • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek. • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements. Preferred Qualifications: • New Construction and High Rise Building Design (Mix-use, Residential and Office) • PE License or LEED AP certification is a plus • Knowledge of AGI32 and SKM is a plus • 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) preferred. • Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired.
