We have a great opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer to join our Morristown, New Jersey / New York offices and be part of the Geotechnical Group for the Northeast region. As a Geotechnical Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to follow projects from concept through construction, working on current and upcoming design-bid-build and design-build projects in highways, rail, water, environmental, ports and maritime, and advanced facilities sectors. By joining our practice you’ll be responsible for:

• Design of shallow and deep foundations • Design of earth retaining structures • Slope stabilizing measures • Liquefaction mitigation • Ground improvement. • Coordination and generation of geotechnical-based drawings and specifications, and preparation of data, baseline, and interpretative reports.

Here's what you'll need

• Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Experience in field assignments that will include observation of explorations (soil and rock borings, test pits, CPT soundings, geophysical testing), and laboratory testing of soils and rock. • Knowledge of the process to design shallow and deep foundations, earth retaining structures, embankment and cut slopes, and slope stabilization. • Design and installation of geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring; and inspection of earth retaining structures, deep foundations inspection and testing (drilled shafts, driven piles), and shallow foundations, and trenchless pipe installation. • Preparation of technical reports, design drawings, and specifications. • Experience with Plaxis is a plus • BS in Civil Engineering. • MS with concentration in Geotechnical Engineering (preferred). • Professional Engineering (PE) license (preferred).
