WSP is currently initiating a search for an Early Career Substation Civil/Structural Engineer for our Billings, Montana office. The following location will also be considered: Denver, CO. This Opportunity The Early Career Substation Civil/Structural Engineer will share responsibility with the rest of the department to produce a product consistent with WSP's mission statement and our culture. They are expected to support the department in achieving the goals of the department, maintain WSP's high-quality standards, promote internal teamwork and meet the needs of our clients. Your Impact • The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of civil design for substations, including permitting, site work, structural and foundation design, and support of substation physical design and equipment layout. • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. • The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of transmission line design for new lines, relocations, upgrades, and fiber optic additions.
Who You Are Required Qualifications • A BSCE (Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering) degree from an accredited university • The candidate must have a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel • Candidate must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship. • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements. • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. • 0-1 years of experience Preferred Qualifications • Minimum 2.75 Grade Point Average (GPA) • Ideal coursework includes structural analysis, concrete design, steel design, soil mechanics, foundation design, and surveying • Structural analysis design software experience is a plus • Previous engineering design or drafting work experience, especially if related to civil and/or structural engineering is desirable • Engineer In Training (EIT) registrations is desired Disclaimer: • Relocation assistance is not available for this role.
