Assistant Vice President - Architect

This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for an Assistant Vice President – Architect for our Charlotte office. WSP works closely with owners and contractors from around the world on large, complex projects with a focus on sustainability and energy performance of the built environment. Be involved in projects with our Property & Buildings Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

Our Charlotte, North Carolina team evaluates, designs, and rehabilitates commercial, industrial, and military buildings. This work focuses on building preservation and enclosure systems and includes performing field work to document the structure, performing architectural analysis/design, and building enclosure modeling and analysis, developing construction documents, and providing construction administration services. We work extensively with the US Department of Defense including the Air Force, Army Corps of Engineers, Defense Logistics Agency and other federal government agencies.

Your Impact

• Lead architectural and multi-disciplinary investigations and repair designs of existing structures.

• Develop clients and pursue opportunities for new work. Represent WSP in the local marketplace and nationally.

• Assist with project research, analysis, and design calculations.

• Prepare reports, design documents (drawings and specifications), cost estimates, and presentations.

• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.

• Perform on-site documentation and construction observations.

• Review fenestration, vertical facade, roofing systems, and waterproofing.

• Provide building enclosure commissioning and consulting services.

• Assist project teams with completing building enclosure design reviews.

• Assist with conducting functional performance testing of enclosure systems.

• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• Registered Architect

• Ten years (minimum) of relevant post education experience with prior building preservation, enclosures evaluation/design, and sustainability experience.
